The Church Council, in consultation with the pastor, seeks Christ’s vision and purpose for the ongoing mission and ministry of the church. The Church Council sets the goals, agenda, and direction of the church every year in order to be faithful to Christ in the present age. Moreover, the Church Council is always looking forward into the future, the next step the church needs to take, to ensure the vitality and growth of the church. The main activity of the Church Council is to support the ministry and mission of the church through providing resources through training, finance, personnel, and facility in order for people to do effective ministries in areas such as Church School, Children, Youth and Adult Ministries, Worship, Music, Evangelism, Stewardship, Mission, and Social Justice Ministries.
The Church Council has the authority and the responsibility to oversee the following work areas of the church:

The Lay Leader will function as the primary representative of the laity in the church by meeting regularly with the pastor to discuss the state of the church and its needs for ministry, assisting in advising the Church Council of opportunities and needs for more effective ministry with laity, and informing the laity of training opportunities for effective ministry.
The primary functions are to attend the Annual Conference, represent the local church at the Annual Conference, and help the local church connect with the Annual Conference.
