Rev. John Song has a passion for helping people discover and cultivate healthy and robust Christian life through spiritual teaching, theological grounding, Christian meditation practices, and creative worship experiences. John’s long time interest in Christian theology and mysticism, near death experience at the age of eighteen, and personal encounter with the living God manifested in divine light at the age of twenty-one, shape his Christian faith.
John, who grew up in Korea, brings unique Eastern spiritual sensitivity to his Christian practice. Firmly rooted and grounded in his Christian faith, he has a deep interest in integrating the distilled wisdom and mysticism of East and West for deepening Christian spiritual formation
John has been an ordained pastor for the past twenty-five years in the United Methodist California-Nevada Conference. Having completed his undergraduate studies in Humanities at U.C. Berkeley, he went on to complete a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Systematic Theology at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley.
